cherrylipstik: Apraxia of Speech?

Hello Community,
I'm new here, and I don't think too many people are still around in this community but I thought i'd give it a shot anyway.

I recently took my son to see a Speech Therapist. He is 3, and he doesn't say any words, but does make babbling sounds, and can sometimes say what sounds like "uh oh". The speech therapist told my huband and I that he has Speech Apraxia, which didn't come as a big shock because I had read up on it a little bit before taking him in.

I really was just curious if anyone else here had any children with this disorder, and if they could tell me what kind of therapy did your child go through, and how soon after starting thearpy was he talking? I just would love some insight on how others handled this.

Thanks in advance for any info!

My son's speech therapist seems to think he has childhood apraxia of speech. He sees the speech pathologist next week, and then we will be going for a diagnosis/confirmation of that after that meeting.
